For the last 20-odd years I've done everything I could to avoid being a normal, productive cog in the big machine of life and just make pictures instead. I think I've done a fairly good job of it.

Photography is just about the coolest thing in the entire world. That it's my job and I get paid for it is even cooler. I've been to more weddings in the last few years than the average person will attend in their entire life. I love making neat photos. Seriously. A lot.

Dogs are the most important things in the previously mentioned entire world. I think they're amazing and getting to spend time with them and photograph them is rewarding in a way most people will never understand. My dogs in particular are extra cool. My wife and I have seven, which means our house is never clean, life is never dull and friends don't ever come over. Our pack is a mixed bag of assorted who-knows-whats but I absolutely love Pit Bulls and all the various bully breeds. If you think dogfighting sounds like a fun way to spend an afternoon or that Pit Bulls are dangerous monsters who should all be euthanized then we wouldn't get along very well.

I also think bicycles are pretty damn cool, and apparently a whole bunch of other people here in Portland agree with me. I'm extra fond of riding around in the mud for an hour on Sundays in the fall. More cowbell please.
